Rings

I think of rings as being objects of power and thus make them heavy and bold. Colored stones are wonderful in rings because the shifts in angles and lighting give them life. However, rings have natural limits to their design possibilities. They must be comfortable to wear and not get in the way. But rings offer something more intimate than most jewelry in that they can be seen by and enjoyed by the wearer.

My rings are all carved in wax and then cast in gold. The preferred material is 22K gold. I will occasionally use 18K gold for someone who is hard on rings or white gold for those who prefer that color. The stones are all set in bezels that are carved into the waxes and usually completely surround the stones.

I especially love doing custom wedding bands, because it is such a happy occasion - and I can be part of it.
